I took my first law school final exam today - Contracts. All in all, I think I did very well. You would have to shovel me off the ground if I end up with less than a B+. No surprises and no problems - until the last problem: "Describe the difference between distributive and commutative justice and discuss how Aquinas' view of commutative justice provides a norm for modern contract theory." Sheesh!
The IT department lost 1 paragraph of my final. I reconstructed it in writing and am awaiting the return of the Dean of Academic Affairs from our Board of Governors meeting in Florida so that he can decide whether or not to append my written assertion to the final.
Speaking of the Board of Governors meeting: our benefactor, Tom Monaghan, is moving the Ave Maria College to Naples, Florida. Although the administration of the law school has been silent on the issue, it seems likely they will want to move the law school as well. Still, something like that cannot happen for a few years because we just received A.B.A. provisional accreditation this year. A move would put permanent accreditation in some jeopardy. As well, the faculty are near unanimous in opposition. The overall concern of the students is that associating the law school with the college will not tend to pull up their reputation - it will pull ours down.
