Tigger and I arrived in Ypsilanti, MI on Saturday, July 27, accompanied by our good friend Andrew. The ride out was an interesting one. Tigger decided to wander aournd the Jeep. She wedged herself in between the dashboard and windshield, sat on the steering column and relaxed in the foot wells. After 11 hours, we were all glad to arrive in the apartment which previously had the kitchen and bathroom set up.
Andrew and I unpacked stuff as the movers arrived on Tuesday, July 30 and then we both flew back to NY on Wednesday. I worked my last three days for First Credit Services and then drove back to Ypsilanti on Friday, August 2 and Saturday, August 3. Two nice fellows down the hall, Tony and Mike, had taken care of Tigger during my absence.
It's amazing how many details one must attend to when moving. I have spent the last week updating addresses, getting new auto and renter insurance, transferring my drivers license, car insurance and registrations to Michigan, registering to vote, finding the Post Office, the Fedex Office, the Home Depot, etc.
I have also been unpacking a box or two per day. As of today (8/9/02), I still have about a half dozen boxes to go. A pleasant surprise here at the apartment building is that secure storage in the basement is free.
I also have been busy completing my summer reading for law school . Orientation begins the week of August 19 and classes begin on August 26.
